£6,219 raised for Flags for CALM

A massive thank you to all you wonderful souls who donated to our FLAGS for CALM campaign, raising an amazing £6,219 – making good our target and then some! For very £8 donated, which sponsored a ‘Call to CALM,’ we flew a string of Nepali flags from The Shambala Stage.

We have been bowled over by not only the generosity of people reaching deep into their pockets, but also the openness in which people have shared their stories with us; more than ever, it is clear that the male mental health crisis is something that has effects us all.

CALM, or Campaign Against Living Miserably, provides frontline support in suicide prevention, campaigns for breaking the stigma surrounding male mental health and carries out vital outreach work that challenges a culture that prevents men seeking help when they need it. Male suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK, and charities like CALM are doing incredible work addressing this nationwide epidemic.

The amount you have all raised will truly make a massive difference – together Shambalans have sponsored nearly 800 calls, supporting men who feel they have nowhere left to turn.

Anybody who donated three or more “Calls to CALM” was entered into a draw to win 2 tickets to Shambala 2019 – the winner has now been drawn at random and notified, so a big congratulations to them!

It’s amazing what our community can do when we all muscle together.

Big love,

The Shambala Team x
