Music
The Music programming is now into its final stages of completing the soundtrack to your festival. We have lined up a fantastic weekend of aural delights, but, as always, we like to keep our cards pretty close to our chest! For now, though, here are a few little teasers to get your ear buds humming with excitement.
We are delighted to announce a performance from the stunning, Eliza Carthy- winner of three Radio 2 Folk Awards and two times Mercury Music Award Nominee. Joining her on the Shambala Stage is a veritable feast of performers, ranging from the legendary Two-Tone of The Beat to the 15 piece Balkan behemoth of The Destroyers who will be presenting a special collaboration with The Dhol Blasters. The stage will also be graced with the sublime, Eastern infused hip hop of Kid Kanevil and the classic, dubbed out festival pop of the 90's legends, Back To The Planet.
The Lakeside Stage will be a venue in which to lose yourself for the entire weekend. A stunning complex of bedouin tents surrounding a courtyard flanked by our picturesque lake and a beautiful stage presenting the finest in folk, blues, global roots, ska and funk with a few unexpected surprises thrown into the mix. Highlights include performances by the current Emerging Artist in Residence at the Southbank Centre, Nila Raja; 21st Century barn dancers, Cut-A-Shine; the raucous Sheffield ska monster, Bison; the incredible Israeli funk band, The Apples and the infamous Shambala Global Jam featuring some of the finest African, Asian and Latin musicians in the UK.
The Dome will be where the party gets properly dark and dirty, with DJ sets from the truest of junglist soldiers, Nicky Blackmarket and hip hop/reggae mash up stars, The Nextmen, alongside live performances by Brighton's heaviest electro band, Transformer, Norwich hip hopsters, Deftex and two of the hottest new skool beatboxers, Mc Xander and Dub FX. This will be the place to indulge in a world of bad ass bass and beatsy treats!
In partnership with our good friends Jibbering Records you can now listen to and buy music by Shambala acts from the past few years events.
After this year's event we'll also be uploading live sets for you to listen to, so watch this space.
