Katalyst B2B Euphonique

From a young age Katalyst voraciously devoured music, learning as many instruments as possible and eventually discovering her love of breakbeats. She was never going to be content simply as a fan of breakbeat-based music. She had to be involved. She had to be putting her energy into it. So she acquired her first set of decks, began studying the art and craft of mixing, and Katalyst the artist came into being.
As drum ‘n’ bass grew in her affections to become her genre of choice, her name began unobtrusively popping up on flyers alongside top tier deejays. A solid series of bookings around the UK propelled Katalyst into the next tier of prestige gigs such as Boomtown, Westfest, Glastonbury Festival and multiple bookings at Printworks and E1, London. Her three-sixty selections and deep respect for the craft of deejaying have quickly established that she’s bringing something highly individual to the table, and people are taking notice.
You can expect to hear a Katalyst set channel a deep and dark underground techy vibe, with a healthy sprinkling of ragga and jungle sounds. Masterful mixing and a potent collection of signature double drops give these sets an impact that dominates any dancefloor they hit
With all her technical musical knowledge, her focus on improvement and her sheer love for breaks and the sound of DnB, Katalyst is already set for big things. As the spotlight turns to her production which is already catching the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ Jeremiah and listed as one of Charlie Tee’s ones to watch for 2023, it’s clear that her very particular blend of talents has the potential to offer us a twist on the formula we’ve never quite heard before.

Producer, DJ, label boss, songwriter. With beats on respected D&B labels such as Hospital, Born On Road, Jungle Cakes, Dread Recordings, Ruffneck Ting and her own imprint Subwoofah Records, Euphonique’s high energy style has been part of the landscape since she emerged in ’08 and has led to heavy plays on Radio 1 and 1Xtra; nominations at the We Love Jungle Awards and Drum & Bass Awards; collabs with Bou, Selecta J-Man, Gray, Redders, Aries, DJ Hybrid, Kelvin 373, Madrush MC, Bam Bam, MC Frost and performances at iconic dances.

Glastonbury to Boomtown, Warehouse Project to Hospitality, E1 to Fabric, UK to Europe to Asia and beyond; Euphonique has taken her art around the world and across the airwaves. Broadcaster since ‘09, she currently hosts a show with jungle pioneer Dazee on SWU.FM.

A music mentor and lyric writer, Euphonique is motivated by empowering the next generation and championing equality and representation across the scene. Her brand Subwoofah was one of Manchester’s most consistent and popular D&B events (’10–’14) and a thriving studio community (’17-’19) where many of the city’s artists would stream and record and newcomers would come to learn.

Her label Subwoofah Records (launched 2013) was responsible for breaking new talent such a Epicentre, Sl8r, Motiv and K-Jah and had a string of D&B number 1s.

Now based in Bristol, Euphonique continues play some of the best festivals and club brands throughout the UK and abroad, and is confirmed to release even more quality music on some of the biggest imprints in Drum and Bass.
