{"id":1089,"date":"2026-02-26T12:07:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T12:07:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shambalafestival.org\/2026\/act\/avalanche-kaito\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T07:38:43","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T07:38:43","slug":"avalanche-kaito","status":"publish","type":"acts","link":"https:\/\/www.shambalafestival.org\/2026\/act\/avalanche-kaito\/","title":{"rendered":"Avalanche Kaito"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Urban griot and multi-instrumentalist Kaito Winse (vocals, tama, peul flutes, mouth bow) fortuitously collided with Brussels noise punk musicians Benjamin Chaval (drums, electronics) and Arnaud Paquotte (bass) from the group Le Jour du Seigneur, after a friend of theirs in Burkina Faso played Kaito some of the duo\u2019s pummeling prog music. Through a twisting sequence of events, the trio eventually met and began developing the ancestral and dadaist sound that defines the album. <\/p>\n<p>The trio create a hypnotic, playful and unexpected blend of sharp noise-punk and the propulsive sounds of traditional Burkinabe music and instruments. Kaito\u2019s griot ancestry and the band\u2019s motivation is a spontaneous escape from the addiction of the online world, a reconnection with the ritual of live performance.
