Their hair-tingling, philosophical, dance-inducing melodies draw inspiration from European folk, queerness, and the cosmos.<\/p>\n<p>Having toured the UK, Canada, and Europe, Malin released their debut album Halocline in May 2024 on Hudson Records. A Halocline is a visible layer that forms between salt and fresh water and is home to a unique microbial ecosystem. Halocline is a metaphor for Malin\u2019s trans identity and living in a space in between; a beautiful space between a binary.<\/p>\n<p>Malin\u2019s signature timbre comes from their deep connection to their self-built instrument. Their two-octave smallpipe opens entirely new sonic worlds, captivating audiences with every performance.
