Formed in London in 1981 under the original name African Woman, the group pioneered female representation in reggae and roots music, building a legacy that now spans more than four decades.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Akabu Queens continue performing internationally while mentoring and inspiring new generations of reggae artists. Their music blends conscious roots reggae with messages of empowerment, unity and social awareness.
