Dear Shambalans. We are so sad to announce that we have no choice other than to cancel Shambala Festival 2020. We have been holding on to any faint glimmers of hope for as long as possible, but the time has come to call it a day. This is heartbreaking. Shambala is an annual reunion of a huge community of like-minded souls and we are devastated that we will not be able to come together this August. It is especially sad as we had pulled out all the stops to celebrate our 20th birthday with you! What does this mean for Shambala? Well, as you know, we’re a proudly independent event with no funding, corporate backing or sponsorship. There are no adverts in our utopia, only adventures! This puts us in a rather tight spot. But we have every hope that, with a little help from our friends, we will weather this storm. After some considerable number crunching we realised that if every Ticket Holder were to donate £30, our black hole would be filled. We realise that many of you will be in no position to make such a gift and we’re also aware that there are so many people, organisations and causes that need support through this difficult time. We fully understand and respect this. If you can and wish to, please help us secure many more decades of our beautiful, independent Shambala! Ticket holders can purchase a £30 Shambala Superstars donation package during the ticket roll-over/refund process which will grant you access to all manner of on-site perks and silliness at Shambala 2021. We will also shortly be launching a fundraiser filled with awesome rewards. Today we are sending all our 2020 Ticket Buyers an email to fully outline the process for rolling tickets forward to 2021, receiving refunds and making donations, as well as more info on the £30 Superstar donation packages. Please keep an eye on your inboxes and spam etc, as you actively need to make a choice to roll tickets over or they will be automatically refunded.
