We can’t quite believe that we find ourselves writing this once again but we must now sadly confirm that Shambala will not take place in 2021. We are absolutely heartbroken… again! We’ve been holding out as long as possible but the uncertainty of the landscape really leaves us no choice. 

As a totally independent festival, even with the amazing support you lot have shown us over the last year and the Cultural Recovery Fund grant we received, without government backed insurance a last minute cancellation would risk the very future of Shambala. That’s not a gamble we are willing to take. 

Whilst we very much hope that the various targets in the roadmap are met and restrictions are lifted in mid June, there’s still a very real possibility that social distancing measures will still be in place. With this in mind, we’ve been engaged in a somewhat nightmarish game of Tetris over the past few months trying to envisage how Shambala could work. The short answer is, it couldn’t. It just wouldn’t be Shambala.

As ever, a huge thank you to all of you for your support, patience and positivity. We’re so, truly sorry that we won’t be able to welcome you beautiful humans back to our utopia this year but, rest assured, we will be back!

Can I rollover my tickets to 2022?

No. We have decided to refund everyone, to keep everything as clean and simple as possible – it’s a tricky business managing festivals in such an uncertain climate and this is the simplest route forward for us. We also feel that many people might welcome some cash back in these hard times. 

At the end of this year, after all our alternative activities have taken place, we’ll need to reassess our position and get stuck into modelling for 2022, in this constantly shifting landscape. 

We want to party together for another 20 years, but in order to ensure the future we need to be cautious now. With that in mind, we’d rather give you your money back until things are more certain, but don’t worry, everyone who has a ticket for this year will be guaranteed first dibs next year, so no current ticket holders need to worry about losing their spot, we’ve got you!

Will booking fees be refunded?

Refunds will be face value, minus fees. We have always insisted on keeping booking fees as low as possible. These are the processing costs for our ticket agent – none of the booking fee money goes to us. TicketSellers have a seriously big job on their hands processing these refunds, and have done an incredible amount of extra work over the past year, handling masses of extra enquiries so these processing costs are unavoidable. 

What is the situation with Booking Protect insurance?

Booking Protect is a service offered by The Ticket Sellers, rather than ourselves. Shambala tickets are always refundable up to 4 weeks before the event, but if you did opt for this additional insurance from our ticket agent, we understand that this insurance is non-refundable. If you opted to take Booking Protect when you purchased your tickets, we understand the policy has been active and running since the point of purchase and the insurers will not refund the premium. Please contact The Ticket Sellers for any further info.  

How long will it take to process my refund?

Our ticket agents, The Ticket Sellers, will work hard to process your refund as quickly as possible. Due to the sheer volume of refunds they’ll be working through, this may take up to 3 weeks. Please note that these tend to be processed by order, so if you added any extras to your order at a later date these may come back into your account separately on your statement.

You will get an email when your refund has been processed, and it can take 5 days from that email for the money to land in your account.

For a number of reasons, a very small amount of refunds can fail – if this happens, The Ticket Sellers will be in touch directly, to get you sorted.

I’ve changed my bank card since I purchased my tickets – will I still get a refund?

All refunds are processed to the original payment method, although the card may have changed the funds will still go to the same account.  You don’t need to do anything for this to happen.

What about all my added extras?

All ‘ancillary’ bookings will be refunded too. This includes: campervan passes; cycle packages; coach tickets; boutique camping; Shambala Springs and Bush Camp bookings. This includes any recycling bonds attached to your order.

What about the Superstar donation I made?

Fear not, we’ll absolutely be honouring all you lovely lot who made superstar donations last year. It means the world that so many of you supported us last year when things were looking especially bleak. If you’re joining us in 2022, you can expect extra silliness and an all singing, all dancing, on site ‘thank you’ as promised. If you’re unable to make it to us in 2022, get in touch so we can make sure that you’ll be lavished with all the good stuff when you eventually join us again in the fields.

I purchased a crowdfunder reward this year – will I still get it?

Rest assured that any of the crowdfunder rewards that were due to be redeemed onsite will be rolled over to 2022. If for whatever reason you are unable to come to Shambala 2022, get in touch so we can make sure you can cash in your reward the next time you can join us. Don’t worry – you won’t miss out on your Booze Key quests, your back stage passes, your ultimate Foodie passes and all other whistles and bells!

I won free tickets in a competition – what about me?

Don’t worry, any free tickets that have been won will still be honoured 

When will Shambala 2022 take place?

As ever we’ll be back on August bank holiday – we’ll be back with a BANG on 25th – 28th August 2022.

Can I transfer my Shambala ticket to one of the CamPING weekends instead?

This isn’t possible for us – these are very different events with different price points, and facilitating transfers would make an already complicated situation pretty unmanageable for both ourselves and TicketSellers.
