Berlin-based Ukrainian artist GANNA brings a spellbinding solo performance – an immersive journey where ancient tradition meets bold contemporary sound. For over a decade, she has been reimagining the rich folklore of her homeland, transforming archival songs into vivid, modern soundscapes that resonate far beyond their origins.
On stage, GANNA creates entire worlds in real time. Using loops, effects, samples, and the guitar synth, she builds layered compositions from a single melodic line, her voice guiding the audience through shifting textures of rhythm and harmony. What begins simply unfolds into a rich and unpredictable sonic landscape—at once deeply rooted in Ukrainian tradition and strikingly contemporary.
Her repertoire draws on fieldwork across Ukraine, shaped by encounters with village singers and oral histories passed down through generations. These fragments of memory are reimagined with urgency and imagination, giving voice to a culture that continues to endure and evolve.
