Step into a traditional greenwood workshop and experience the meditative craft of shaping wood by hand using a shave horse and spoke shave. Participants will learn how to safely use these time-honoured carpentry tools to transform raw wood into beautiful, functional objects.
With up to 20 shave horses available, these workshops are designed to welcome large numbers of participants across the weekend, creating a lively and engaging shared making space. Adults can craft a range of wooden treen such as chopping boards, bespoke cooking spoons, butter knives, and spatulas, while children can enjoy making their own high-quality wooden swords.
All tools, materials, and safety equipment are provided, and sessions are fully supported and accessible to beginners. Workshops are bookable throughout the weekend, with affordable pricing to keep them inclusive: wooden swords are £8 for a 1.5-hour session, and hardwood butter knives, sanded and oiled, are £15 for a 2-hour session.
A relaxed, hands-on environment where people of all ages can slow down, work with natural materials, and take home something both useful and beautifully made.
