Bark Craft workshops, explore the use of sustainably harvested natural materials including birch, ash and hazel bark, bramble, spruce roots, and willow to create small containers and baskets.

This is a highly tactile and immersive traditional craft, where participants work closely with natural materials softened in warm water heated over a fire. Using simple hand tools, they will learn to cut, shape, fold, weave, and stitch by hand to form functional and beautiful objects.

Bark craft is an ancient skill that has largely been lost in the UK, but remains more widely practised in Scandinavia and other parts of the world. These workshops offer a rare opportunity to reconnect with this heritage technique, working slowly and intentionally with natural materials to create something both practical and unique.
