Nafeesa’s lyrical energy weaves her grandfather’s witty Kashmiri style of storytelling with Brummy working-class grit. She is joined by South Asian classical music masters from Pakistan/West Midlands, Ali Shair and Qasim. They will bring complementary sounds of bansuri, vocals, and harmonium to lift the poetry, taking the audience to another land altogether, and bringing us home to ourselves safely. This performance encourages you to come and pause, put your phone away and practise radical presence and listening. Think city markets/campfire vibes, sprinkled with magic surrealism.
