When sound system culture and underground dance music came together, in Bristol in the late 1980s, Queen Bee was one of the main DJs championing new music. Through the launch of her pirate radio station Emergency FM, she bought her sound to the ears of many and formed long lasting musical friendships with the likes of Massive Attack’s Daddy G, moving on to tour with the band for over a decade and recently performing as part of their 20th anniversary reunion for the Mezzanine album. She has continued to maintain her influence as a tastemaker, curating emerging talent like Eva Lazarus and Tiffany Juno alongside her signature dancehall / Afro beat / house style. Expect an eclectic mix of deeply mined musical treasures…sitting down is not an option.
We love having Queen Bee play at House Party. This time were told, she’ll be playing an open format set centring on her deep love of Funk, Soul, Reggae, African and Latin Beats!
