“Hi! I’m Sophie, a London based Illustrator of mixed British and Trinidadian heritage. I make art exploring music, mythology, symbolism and social justice.
I have three main areas of work – in the music world designing record covers, in the publishing world illustrating children’s books and in the artivism world producing political pieces and community projects.
I work by hand, employing traditional techniques with gouache and pen to create contemporary images characterised by strong figures, vivid colours and an energetic style!
I created my Shambala artwork by combining hand drawn illustrations and painted textures in a collage style, I hope it conveys the warmth and electricity of this special festival.”
