As you know, it’s been very hot, and very dry, for a very long time. There is rain forecast between now and the show (rain dances most welcome) and whilst it’s a bit soon to trust the long range forecast, it currently looks like things are going to cool off for the show days.
However, on the advice of Northants Fire, our own fire service contractors, and the recent government communications, we have some safety updates:
- No campfires! Fires are strictly prohibited in both public and crew campsites and as part of venues.
- No disposable BBQs or candles (or fire related toys such as poi/juggling etc)
- On the advice of our fire safety teams, there is no need currently for a ban on gas stoves – but be very mindful when using these, pay close attention and never leave them unattended
- Smokers, be incredibly vigilant of your cigarette ends – there will be plentiful ash trays around site – use them, do not throw your butts on the floor, and ensure cigarettes are fully extinguished. If you have one of those pouch ashtrays, bring it with you.
- Fireworks any any communal fires or fire entertainment, will not take place unless conditions significantly change.
Naturally, this is a very dynamic situation, but this is where things stand right now – we’ll ensure we keep you all posted of any amends, so keep an eye on our socials, app and on your inboxes.
Big love x
