In a Shambala Festival first, Transition movement co-founder Rob Hopkins will share the powerful new time travel technology that he and his team have built and, rumour has it, may even initiate the first act of collective time travel in the history of the festival! He will talk about why, in a time where the future is being cancelled and colonised, reconnecting to what could be, to possibility, is so vital, illustrated with stories of artists and activists who have done just that. bell hooks once wrote “what we cannot imagine cannot come into being”, and in this participatory talk, you will reconnect to your ability to dream, and to imagine a future worth longing for.
Rob Hopkins is the co-founder of the Transition movement, an artist, author and public speaker. His last two books ‘From What Is to What If’ and ‘How to Fall in Love with the Future’ both dived deep into the power of the radical imagination and why it’s so needed right now.
