Drawing deep from sound system culture, Anything But Becky celebrates the sounds that reflect both her Jamaican heritage and her Bristol musical identity, paying homage to the culture, community and roots that keep the dance alive. Her work weaves cultural heritage with modern sound, spotlighting the creativity of Caribbean and global diasporas.
Expect roots reggae, dub, dancehall, jungle and grime alongside gritty low-frequency footwork, into sets that hit hard and move wide — pushing the boundaries of familiar tracks through tasteful mixing and selection. Since emerging in 2023, she’s carved a distinct sound profile, landing performances at Glastonbury, Boiler Room and Fabric Live, while showcasing her selections on NTS, Foundation FM and Noods Radio.
Beyond the decks, she co-founded Bristol’s new FLINTA dj collective WINK (@winkbristol), creating safe spaces and opportunities for women and non-binary creatives. More recently stepping into event production, she’s contributed to rebalancing representation within the festival and carnival space for Black event producers. Her work on The Festival Yard focused on celebrating music of Black origin and amplifying Black creative voices.
