In May 2021, a UK Home Office dawn raid in Glasgow sparks one of the most powerful acts of community resistance seen in recent years. In Pollokshields, Scotland’s most diverse neighbourhood, hundreds of local residents gather in the street to stop the deportation of their neighbours — bringing food, solidarity, and collective courage to a moment of fear and uncertainty.

Directed by Felipe Bustos Sierra, Everybody to Kenmure Street is a moving documentary about what happens when ordinary people refuse to look away. At once intimate and political, it captures the energy of a community standing together in real time, and asks urgent questions about borders, belonging, civil resistance, and what it means to show up for one another when it matters.

The screening will be followed by a conversation exploring some of the themes raised in the film, including solidarity, collective action, and community under pressure.
