Welcome to Back A Yard, opening the venue with our family welcome session!
Back A Yard are a fierce all-female DJ collective with heavyweight dubs and no compromises. Championing inclusivity, community and musical excellence through dancehall, bashment, roots and bass-heavy sounds, their eponymous stage at Shambala festival needs no introduction. If there’s one thing these gal dem know, it’s how to throw a party.
Residents:
Riesh Tafari: Back A Yard Founder, Final Boss and Bristol’s First Lady of Bashment. Guaranteed to whine it up and then SHUT IT DOWN. Relentless dancehall shellerz, with a sprinkling of the rarest, sweetest roots and dub melodies just so you can catch your breath.
Synthia: Hopelessly addicted to amens + the darker side of dancehall and bass music. Constantly trying to solder weird bleeps and bloops together with varying degrees of success.
Nymfro: Turbo-charged snares and sauce, effortlessly dipping from 98 – 200bpm and back again, with the crowd wrapped around her little finger. This year she’s laying down a whole new set of Bouyon and beyond
DJ Kez: Host with the heat, hot like 10. When she’s not laying down sexy beats and latin fya for all you spicy Shamfam and the yard, you can find her slinging Bassline at her own events, Sugar & Spice.
Jess Ma’am: Vibez Madamoizelle, artist, designer and backstage manager. She’s sticky like glue cos without her we’d fall apart. If it looks good, she probably made it.
Fluffy Gusset: Back A Yards newest addition to the fam, and taking over Nymfros Saturday shutdown set, expect bouncy multi genre drama inspired by the Yard, matched with absolute fire fits. Pretty face and bad character DOWN
