Lalah-Simone Springer is a working-class poet, speculative fiction writer and creative health facilitator
(she/they). Lalah was part of the London Arts and Health Artist Represent Recovery Network, and has
run workshops with Nike Well Festival, We Out Here Festival, Newham Poetry Group, Team London
Bridge, Croydon Public Health and more. In 2023 Lalah’s debut poetry collection, An Aviary of
Common Birds (Broken Sleep Books), was long-listed for the Merky Books New Writers Prize, and
released alongside their debut album Cyclical Music.
Lalah has previously received the Community Engagement Artist Grant – for artists that reimagine our shared spaces and stimulate social engagement, creative expression and collective empowerment. Collaborations as a performance artist have been staged at The Barbican, Whitechapel Gallery, and the Southbank Centre.
