Car Share Heroes Assemble: It’s Time to Drive Down Travel Emissions!

Last year, travel from our Audience, Crew, and Artists generated nearly 500 tonnes of CO2e – that’s over half of the festival’s footprint.

2024’s average number of people per vehicle? Just 2.43.

If every car arriving at Shambala carried 4 people instead, we’d slash emissions by over 200 tonnes of CO2e. That’s a huge climate win – and it’s completely within reach.

That’s where you come in. Whether you’re offering a lift or hitching a ride, becoming a Car Share Hero is one of the easiest and most effective ways to take action and shrink our collective carbon footprint.

We understand not everyone can travel in shared transport, or fill a car easily. But if you are able to, it really does make a big difference!

How To Car Share to Shambala:

We’ve teamed up with Liftshare to make getting to and from the festival easier, greener, and more sociable than ever!

Click here to visit our Liftshare page.

Here’s how it works:

  • Click ‘Get Started’.
  • Sign up and verify your email, or log in if you already have an account.
  • Add your journey: search for “Shambala” or “Shambala Festival” as your destination and set your travel dates.
  • Check your Liftshare messages or emails for replies from other festival-goers.

Car Share to Win Free Tickets!

This year, we’re rewarding 1,000 Car Share Heroes for their efforts with beautifully laser-cut wooden Shambala medals and a chance to win free tickets to Shambala 2026!

Here’s how to enter:

  • Snap a selfie of your fully loaded car arriving at Shambala (that’s 4 humans minimum).
  • Come to the Car Share Heroes Stand (in front of Orange Camping, with Matter Wholefoods, besides People’s Front Room) on Saturday between 12-4pm.
  • Show us the photo (with a visible timestamp), and you’ll be entered into the draw!

Two lucky groups will each win 4 tickets to come back in 2026!

Let’s fill those seats, forge some new friendships, and make 2025 our greenest year yet!
