Six Inches of Soil tells the inspiring story of British farmers, growers, chefs and communities standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way food is produced — to heal the soil, restore biodiversity, nourish local communities, and build more resilient futures.
Following the journeys of new-generation farmers adopting regenerative and agroecological practices, the film explores the realities of farming within a broken food system while asking urgent questions about climate, food security, land, health, and our relationship to the living world beneath our feet.
At once hopeful, grounded and deeply human, the film weaves together stories of courage, experimentation and reconnection — showing that another way of growing food is not only possible, but already happening.
The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with producer Claire Mackenzie, Eddie Reynolds, and Sumita Hutchison from Conscious Planet. Claire is a producer, environmental organiser, and long-time advocate for regenerative food systems and community action. Eddie works with Conscious Planet’s Save Soil initiative, a global movement supporting regenerative agriculture, soil restoration, and farmer-led ecological transition around the world. Sumita brings cross-sector experience in law, public service, environmental sustainability, and public health, with a focus on the relationship between soil, nature recovery, community wellbeing, and social justice.
