On paper, Mr. Bruce’s music and performance shouldn’t work: house, electro, hyper-pop, rattling amen breaks, anthemic dancehall, death meditations. His work spans many directions yet retains coherence through his distinctive voice and approach to subject matter. His music is made for turbulent times, where the need to dance, grieve, and seek solace has never been more urgent.
Mr. Bruce spent 13 years as the frontman of The Correspondents, one of the UK’s most in-demand festival acts. Alongside producer Chucks (aka Tim Cole), he toured relentlessly, building a huge and loyal following. The death of Chucks in 2020 abruptly ended the band, and Mr. Bruce relaunched as a solo artist, working with producer Angus Kemp.
He has since released an EP and two singles and embarked on a tour across the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Chile. He is now focused on his debut album, set for release in early 2026.
