Socks and Ballerinas are an instrumental live-looping duo based in Cork, Ireland. Comprising Leonardo Calamati (guitar, bass, synths) and Katalin Helfenbein (drums), the band utilizes real-time looping to construct a massive wall of sound that rivals a five-piece ensemble.

Bridging the gap between prog-rock intricacy and dance-floor energy, their sound is a high-wire act of distorted melodies and infectious grooves. This unique sonic signature has earned them a formidable live reputation, leading to standout performances at festivals such as StrangeForms and Dot To Dot Festival. Their music has also found a home beyond the stage, featuring on the soundtrack of Remedy Entertainment’s hit video game, Control.

On their newly released second album, A Bit Jumpy, the duo fuses electronic textures with raw instrumentation to create “danceable ear-worms” that defy predictability.

Live, it is a performance that never settles, bouncing between jagged rhythms and explosive drops that make it impossible to stand still.

"Almost unbelievable that such a colossal sound is created by just two people."
