The Menstrual Cramps is a DIY queer punk band from Bristol, UK, known for its feminist, anti-fascist, and pro-choice stance.

Their music – loud, raw, and unapologetically queer – makes a powerful statement that has shaken up the punk scene and earned them spots at major festivals.

Long-time Shambala favourites, they’ve torn up our stages many a time, most recently at our gone-but-not-forgotten punk haunt, Squatter’s Tights.

In 2023, they signed to Alcopop! Records, took 2024 by storm with the release of their EP ACAB, and in 2025 released new single Kiss On The Pitch, the queer soundtrack to the Women’s Euros.

Their live shows are known for their high-energy performances and rebellious style, leaving audiences both inspired and exhilarated. Having recently played at Manchester Punk Festival, Bearded Theory, Bristol Pride, 2000 Trees, Truck Festival, Boomtown, and supported Amyl and The Sniffers on tour, they continue to refuse to take any shit!

"Sure to get the average Daily Mail reader into a gammon-flavoured frothy mess."

"If the Spice Girls had lived in a squat with Millie Tant, Auntie Fascist and her feminista sistas, and listened to Vice Squad and early Fuzzbox demo’s… they would still be nowhere near as good as the Menstrual Cramps."
