In typically trail-blazing fashion, Shambala is now the world’s first festival to trial a cutting edge tech initiative, replacing staff across the event with Ai hubs, staffed by a dedicated festival super chat bot.
Shambalans, meet Pam Bala.
Pam Bala, will replace the staff teams at the on site box offices, public information points and all campsite hubs – providing instant access to fast, up-to-date information that is almost always factual.
Our MD and Co-Founder Christopher Johnson explains: “Think Holly from Red Dwarf but with better hair, available 24 hours a day via our app and the information screens across site (wifi dependent!).
It’s increasingly difficult to make independent festivals work financially in the UK – and festivals like us are always on the hunt for creative solutions! This exciting, shiny, future-forward initiative reduces onsite staff costs significantly.
We regret that we have not been able to inform affected staff prior to this announcement, but are delighted that former staff members will now have a chance to enjoy the festival, rather than spending hours answering silly questions whilst everyone else has all the fun!
As a goodwill gesture, this announcement comes ahead of ticket sellout, so if your role has been affected, make sure you buy your final tier tickets sharpish and we’ll see you in the fields!
