ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES AND TICKETING

Shambala provides accessibility services and facilities for use by ticket holders. Many services must be booked in advance to ensure adequate planning of infrastructure and service management.

Application for Use of Accessibility Services – Deadline 1st July

Applicants should secure their person ticket, then apply for accessibility services via the Accessibility Application form located on the Shambala website, before July 1st each year. Applications made after this time will be accommodated where possible but we cannot guarantee that services or tickets will be available. We are not able to accommodate services requests that have not been booked and confirmed prior to arrival.

Accessible Camping Area (ACA) use and Accessible Camper Van Tickets

Pitches in the ACA must be booked in advance via the Accessibility Application form and are issued on needs-based assessment and first come first served basis. Groups can be accommodated, where space allows, if requested before 1st July. All pitches accommodate a large camper van (8m maximum vehicle length) or a tent (6 berth maximum size) as standard. Pitches are allocated in advance to suit applicant requirements. Any awning or additional structure must fit within the boundary of the pitch including any guy ropes. Cars or non-converted vans are not permitted within the ACA. All camper vans must remain static once parked. Whilst Kambe cannot prevent vehicles from leaving the event site during the event, campervan re-entry is not permitted under any circumstances.

Following successful application, ACA campervan tickets will be made available for purchase.

Accessible Parking and Accessible Camper Van Tickets

Accessible vehicle tickets must be booked in advance via the Accessibility Application form. Accessible parking areas are intended for disabled ticket holders or those with mobility issues. Friends or assistants are asked to use standard car parking areas.
Accessible Camper Van tickets can be used in other campsite areas outside of the ACA by prior booking and arrangement.

PAs are expected to travel and arrive with the person they are supporting. For further information please contact accessibility@shambalafestival.org.

Eligibility for a PA Ticket does not necessarily entitle ticket holders to a space in the Accessible Camping Area (ACA) and associated vehicle parks.

Free Transport Assistance

Onsite Transport Assistance is a dedicated service for disabled attendees only, and needs to be pre-booked prior to the event, via the Accessibility application form.

RECYCLING BOND DEPOSIT TICKETS

It is a requirement that all orders which include adult ticket(s) have a minimum of one £25 refundable recycling bond ticket. This is regardless of the number of people tickets contained within any particular order. This is mandatory at the ticketing point of sale.

The Recycling Bond is refundable upon delivery of a bag of recycling to the designated onsite Recycling Exchange. Please note that bags with recyclable and non-recyclable waste mixed will not be accepted. Instructions on recyclable waste can be found on the website, in the festival programme, and on the festival app. A full refund will be provided in the form of a £25 credit or debit card refund to the booker’s account.

Those who do not redeem their deposit onsite will forfeit their deposit. It is the ticket holders’ responsibility to be aware of the opening times of the recycling centre, and deposits can only be redeemed onsite by taking the actions outlined above.

  • Camper Van Pitch (6m maximum length vehicle)
  • Large Camper Van Pitch (8m max length vehicle)
  • Accessible Camper Van Pitch (8m maximum length vehicle)

Cars

Car passes should be purchased in advance. The availability of on-the-day sales is not guaranteed and any sold will be subject to significant additional charges.

Motorbikes

Motorbike tickets must be purchased in advance, and are subject to availability. Shambala does not offer hard-standing parking.

Camper Van Pitches

Camper van pitches are valid for the following vehicle types/combinations only:

  • Converted live-in vans
  • Car + caravan or trailer tent
  • Vehicles fitted with roof-top tents

Pitch Sizes:

  • Camper Van Pitch (Under 6m length vehicle) 6 x 7m
  • Large Camper Van Pitch (8m max length vehicle) 6 x 10m

All camper van pitches are only valid if the vehicle fits within the maximum length stated on the ticket purchased, surcharges may apply if the vehicle is longer than the maximum stated on the ticket.

In General Campervan Camping, awnings are the only additional structures authorised. These must fit within the boundary of your pitch, including any guy ropes, otherwise the campsite management team will request that you move or remove them. Kambe retains the right to remove awnings that exceed the pitch boundary, intrude into firelanes, cause a concern for safety i.e in the event of adverse wind/weather.

Any other cars and other non-converted vans (including SUVs and pick-up trucks) do not comply with our definition of a live-in vehicle and are strictly not permitted into camper van fields. Entry will be refused, purchased tickets will be non-refundable and surcharges may apply for correct ticketing.

Attendees bringing cars towing caravans/trailer-tents should purchase a camper van ticket and display the vehicle ticket inside the towing car/vehicle. You will be required to unhitch and remove the car to dedicated car parking away from your caravan immediately on arrival to your pitch.

Family camper van camping indicates closer proximity to family camping and services, it does not mean the area is quiet or has no noise. Family Campsite residents are asked to ensure low noise from their own campsites after 10pm (22:00hrs).

Family camper van tickets permit 1 x small tent, awning or gazebo to accompany the vehicle within the pitch. Awnings, tents and gazebos must fit within the boundary of your pitch including any guy ropes, otherwise the campsite management team will request that you move or remove them. Kambe retains the right to remove awnings, tents and gazebos that exceed the pitch boundary, intrude into firelanes, cause a concern for safety i.e in the event of adverse wind/weather.

All camper vans must remain static once parked. Whilst Kambe cannot prevent vehicles from leaving the event site during the event, campervan re-entry is not permitted under any circumstances.

It is not permitted that any cars are slept in during the event.

No electricity hook ups are available.

Camper vans are parked sequentially in fields on arrival. Those wishing to camp together must arrive together. Large and standard-sized camper van pitches are located in separate areas.

Electrical Hook-ups

A limited number of electrical power supplies are available to purchase for £125 per vehicle.

This provides 1 x 16amp electrical connection per pitch from a distribution point. You are responsible for bringing a minimum of IP44 rated outdoor connectors and cables for your own use. These will not be supplied by the festival. These need to be in good working order.

Power connection is for one single connection only, and not to be shared with non-purchasers. Any sharing will result in the termination of the power supply to your pitch, without a refund.

Electric hook-ups pitches will be located within a general camping area in Campervan Camping, and not available for Family Camper Van field. Families are welcome within this area.

Pitches are allocated as camper vans arrive, and cannot be reserved for groups adjacent to each other.

Instalment Payments:

Instalment plans are available for all ticket types through Humanitix. Payment plans are applied to your whole order (basket-based) rather than to individual tickets.

CANCELLATION, MISUSE, REFUNDS AND RESALE

Although we will do our best to keep you informed of any cancellation, it is the ticket holders’ responsibility to establish whether an event has been cancelled and the date and time of any rearranged event.

  • Amnesty bins are in position at the gates and in certain locations within the festival.
  • Prescription medication must be declared before entering the search and entry points. Personal medication will be authorised only if it is in its original packaging, supported with a copy of the prescription in the ticket holder’s name.
  • Medicinal (prescribed) cannabis – as per other prescription medicines, medical cannabis must be in its original packaging, and accompanied with a prescription in the ticket holder’s name. Ticket holders are advised to only bring quantities sufficient for the duration of their stay, and avoid bringing accessories.
  • CBD –  In order for the security staff at the gates to determine whether a bottle of oil is CBD, and therefore legal, we require for the bottle to be sealed (and never to have been previously opened), and a commercially labelled product that clearly displays the CBD and THC content information. At the entry gates, if the product has been previously opened, fails to display the content information, or is suspected by the search staff of being any substance other than CBD, security staff may treat it as a contraband item, and confiscate it. Within the festival site, security will be looking at the content information to determine legality.
  • Our policy on CBD reflects the current national approach, however, it is important to note that Government departments are currently reviewing these products, and if there is any change in the regulations, Shambala’s T&Cs will by necessity change accordingly.

OTHER

Shambala’s Nudity Policy

Shambala’s policy on nudity aims to balance a supportive approach to an individual’s wish to feel free and safe to choose to be without clothes, and wider considerations about everyone’s comfort and safety. Shambala considers public nudity of a non-sexual manner to be natural. We accepts respectful [adult] nudity in the campsites and main outdoor festival areas in daylight hours, and in the Sauna and Spa areas at all times. As part of our general approach to sexual safety, and a commitment to ensuring everyone’s comfort, nudity is not permitted in indoor venues (other than activities such as talks or workshops where attendees are predominantly seated) or dense crowds.  Adult nudity is not permitted in the Children’s field (Playtopia) and Woodland Tribe areas, nor the Family Camping areas.

Shambala’s Inclusivity Policy

Shambala is taking active steps to improve inclusivity and diversity – we want everyone to feel welcome and able to enjoy the festival. Data gathered at the point of sale with Humanitix will help us understand our audience makeup , shape the event and measure our progress.

We want Shambala to be a safer space and strongly believe that everybody has the right to enjoy the festival experience free from discrimination, harassment, microaggressions, abuse or intimidation. We are committed to ensuring that Shambala is an inclusive space for communities targeted by discrimination such as racism, sexism, transphobia, ableism and homophobia. We welcome feedback on how we can improve on these efforts. Every person who comes to Shambala, be it crew, artists or audience has a shared responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote inclusivity. This is a community and everybody is welcome.
