Brought up attending festivals from the age of 6 months old and loading sound systems into venues from age 15, Somatic has been immersed in late-night dancing culture from an early age.
Initially training as a percussionist, Somatic is led by rhythm and visceral bass. Cross-pollinating in his sets is unavoidable, from 808 drum machines with Middle Eastern percussion & Electro with Classical Indian Raag’s, Somatic is part of a generation of DJs who don’t see the boundaries of genres.
His style has taken him to perform at festivals like Glastonbury & Boomtown, and in Indian cities Bangalore & Mumbai. He also works as one of Mr Scruff’s Sound Engineers, is part of the Daytimers Collective, holds down a monthly residency on Subtle Radio and has cultivated an avid following for his sell out “Dance Against Racism” event series that he runs with his mum in Exeter.
