Aleighcia Scott

Aleighcia Scott is making waves—and not quietly. Cardiff-born with Jamaican roots, she’s the genre-blending, soul-soaked voice behind a bold new era of reggae. Think deep grooves, bilingual lyrics, and big feelings wrapped in serious style.

Tipped by The Guardian as one of 2025’s breakout Welsh artists, spotlighted in BBC’s Ones to Watch, and championed by Creative Wales, Aleighcia’s name is everywhere—for all the right reasons.

The release of “Dod o’r Galon” – Aleighcia’s first Welsh language release, which was highly anticipated and hotly tipped by the Sun Newspaper- went straight to number one on the iTunes Reggae Single Chart.  This landmark release made history as the first Welsh-language reggae song to reach number one on the iTunes Reggae Chart and marks a proud moment for Welsh-language reggae on the international stage.

Away from the mic, Aleighcia is shaping culture—deputising for David Rodigan on BBC 1Xtra, hosting her own weekly BBC Radio Wales show, and winning hearts (and the whole competition) as the winning coach on Y Llais 2025 (The Voice Wales), alongside Sir Bryn Terfel, Yws Gwynedd and Bronwen Lewis.

Fresh, fearless, and flying the flag for a new kind of reggae – Aleighcia Scott is just getting started.
