Ayana Playle

Ayana is a spoken word artist with a background in theatre and performance-making, based in and around Brighton.

Her poetry reflects the challenges and joys of navigating life in her twenties—trying to stay afloat in a world that’s increasingly unaffordable and exhausting, while still finding moments of connection and joy. Often politically charged, her work is rooted in her experience as a queer woman, exploring LGBTQ+ rights, femininity and womanhood, the fight for climate justice, veganism, and the strangely relentless task of simply existing.

Blending humour and wordplay, she uses storytelling as a tool for both reflection and change. With a relatable, playful (and occasionally absurd) style, Ayana hopes her poetry resonates—and maybe even sparks a smile or two.
