From Barbados beaches to English Countrysides, Island Fever Sound are touching down at Shambala once more!
Expect proper Island vibes during this 2 hour special – Roots, Dub, Classic Reggae and so much more. Hosted and curated by Sky Lion.
Sky Lion got the DJing bug after helping a local sound system in Barbados set up for a beach party. After that experience, with the help of his uncle and a friend, Island Fever Sound was born. Playing at house and beach parties. Balancing the Island Fever System and school work started to take a toll, so all the equipment were sold and his focus was directed to become a dive boat captain which he did for many years.
The fire for Djing was still burning and the opportunity came with a three week holiday to Bristol, England. He linked up with local reggae singer Emmanuel Anebsa who give him some dub-plates. Having fresh dubs from the UK, next thing was to find a venue, with the help of Dub From Atlantis that was made possible with nights at Cosies Wine Bar and Thekla. Returning back to Bristol the following year. He held residencies at the Star and Garter with Dj Apple B and owner/DJ Dutty Ken and also at Cosies. A weekly radio on Passion FM Radio was the foundation to build vibes in Bristol. Island Fever was back, but not as a sound system, just as a bar/club night Island Fever/Grass Roots in venues around Bristol and the UK.
