La Sécurité

Emerging from the neon-lit underbelly of Montréal/Tiohtià:ke, La Sécurité are a dance-punk force built on jumpy beats, insomniac energy, and mischievous defiance. Their sound is a blend of art-punk, new wave, and krautrock, running riot through off-kilter hooks and minimalistic melodies—all wrapped in a riotous, dancefloor-ready urgency. Think Le Tigre in a strobe-lit alleyway, ESG on a sugar high, or Neu! after too much espresso.

Their debut album, Stay Safe! (Mothland, 2023), is manic yet surprisingly laid-back, painting unique sonic graffitis evoking a polymorphic reality. With a sneering Franglais edge and an ethos drawn straight from Riot Grrrl’s playbook, their lyrics celebrate female autonomy, benevolence, and the messy magic of friendship—the good, the bad, and the gloriously unhinged. The follow-up Stay Safe! REMIXED (2024), features reworks by Born at Midnite, The Mauskovic Dance Band, and Freak Heat Waves.

La Sécurité are a multi-sensory spectacle, coupling thrift-store aesthetics with DIY music videos, patented dance moves, and raw, kinetic performance art. Whether crammed into a dark basement, perched on a tanning salon rooftop, or immortalized on a grainy VHS, they turn every gig into an improv-fueled hurrah of disheveled music and movement.

Since their explosive debut in 2022, they’ve stormed festival stages across the globe—including The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, SXSW, Focus Wales, FIJM, New Colossus, and Sled Island—sharing the spotlight with Automatic, Death Valley Girls, Exek, Civic, and more. As Consequence puts it, their “insanely catchy bilingual post-punk jams” and frontwoman Éliane Viens-Synnott’s wild, crowd-warping antics make for a spectacle you don’t just watch—you feel.

Now, with a new single ‘Detour’ (2024) via Bella Union & Mothland, and an upcoming US tour supporting The Go! Team, La Sécurité are coming in fast, flouting every rule in the book. Expect chaos, catharsis, and the most fun you’ve had in ages.
