In these Movement meditation sessions we will be using gentle body movements, breathwork, and active physical positions to help us find a sense of peace, calm, and relaxation. We will focus more on the movements of the body rather than the goal of any movement. As with all meditation, the key is to be present in the moment, and, by giving our full attention to our body and movements, we can find another route into mindfulness. I will lead you in noticing your muscles and joints as they move, or the feeling of your feet against the ground or the air against your skin. We’ll pay attention to the body and how it feels as it moves, bends, and twists. Even your breathing, heartbeat, and other inner sensations can be better noticed through movement and when you are mindful of the body. Movement meditation can be particularly good if you aren’t in the mood for sitting still!
The movements themselves will be simple and accessible for everyone.
