Shri Sriram is an award-winning composer, musician, and producer renowned for his genre-defying approach to music. A virtuoso tabla player turned self-taught fretless bass innovator, Shri has carved out a distinctive sound that blends the rich traditions of South Asia with the pulse of modern electronic music. As a pioneering force in the Asian Underground scene, Shri’s groundbreaking work with Outcaste Records and his collaboration with Badmarsh laid the foundation for an electro-acoustic fusion that has resonated around the world.

Shri’s diverse musical journey spans a vast array of genres and collaborations. From performing with the Britten Sinfonia and Joanna MacGregor to joining forces with internationally acclaimed artists such as Bugge Wesseltoft, Gary Husband, Dennis Rollins, Arild Andersen, and Ben Castle, his performances have graced renowned venues and festivals across the globe, including Glastonbury, Jools Holland, and Montreux Jazz Festival.

Beyond live performance, Shri is an accomplished composer and producer with a diverse portfolio of work for theatre, dance, and film. He has composed for a range of projects, including the promo track for Academy Award-winning Ang Lee’s Life of Pi and a BASCA-winning collaboration with the Hammonds Brass Band on the project Just A Vibration, which seamlessly blends sitar, bass, and drums.

Shri’s discography includes his latest album, The Letter (released on Jazzland Records), as well as remixes for a diverse roster of artists, from De La Soul and Andrew Lloyd Webber to Kronos Quartet and Asha Bhosle.
