Karen’s Jewellery Workshop is a relaxed introduction to precious metalwork – drop by to make recycled silver rings and pendants.
The ring and pendant workshops introduce fine metalworking skills through a step by step approach. This gives a basic insight into the tools and techniques used to manipulate metal and create jewellery. We aim to accommodate individuality and encourage original ideas particularly exploring the patterns and textures decorating the surfaces of the rings and pendants.
The recycled silver ring workshops give a hands-on taster of silversmithing techniques – including using a piercing saw, softening the metal with heat, silver soldering and lots and lots of hammering.
The pendants are created from recycled silver sheet and utilise the same texture and embossing techniques as the rings. It’s also possible to build up layers of texture and pattern using hammers and then punches, wire etc.
