Young Culture – reggae, born and raised in Moseley.
Founded by duo Richie Culture and Stevie Young, and citing a diverse range of influences, like Bob Marley and the Wailers, Steel Pulse, and UB40; to Sizzla, Anthony B, and Capleton. Young Culture blends classic reggae with a modern rock twist.
Richie and Stevie’s were raised in vibrant music scene of Moseley, surrounded them by a rich reggae culture. Having already supported great artists such as The Skints, Al Anderson’s Wailers, and Gentlemans Dub Club, the band have recently been taken under the wing of Birmingham reggae royalty, UB40.
Young Culture have opened for UB40 at the Royal Albert Hall, the Ahoy in Rotterdam, and will continue to support them on their 2024 UK arena tour, alongside the legendary Soul II Soul. Richie, Stevie and their bandmates blend infectious roots riddims, soulful melodies, and socially conscious lyrics – wrapped around energetic live performances.
Their authentic sound has garnered a loyal following. Young Culture are dedicated to spreading positive vibes and messages of unity through their music, and see themselves as future torchbearers for reggae culture in the UK.
