Sisters In Dub

Sisters in Dub is thought to be Coventry’s only all-female black Sound System, comprised of Danniella Dee, Cherelle Harding, & DJ Kat The Katalyst. Coventry natives, all 3 of the sisters have unique musical journeys. From classical training, gospel, reggae, 2-tone foundations & growing up in sound system families. These influences & experiences inspired the birth of Sisters in Dub.

Representing women in a male-dominated space, Sisters in Dub play a mix of meditative dub, deep roots reggae and energetic steppas – incorporating melodic vocals & live instruments to create a unique, vibrant performance; whilst retaining an authentic Jamaican sound system vibe.

In their own words:
“Dub and Roots music is the heartbeat of all music genres, it’s the heartbeat, when you hear it, the vibrations you get from the speakers and the frequencies you get. It makes every cell in your body vibrate with happiness, it uplifts you, it is positive, uplifting and everyone needs more of it in their life.

It’s important for females nowadays to be brave enough to step in and occupy these male dominated spaces in the creative industries because we can be really powerful when we do that.”

Their all-female chariot of fire aims to reignite the sound system flame in their hometown and beyond, inspiring the next generation & becoming the future of sound system culture.
