With soundsystem music at it’s heart, Ruffnek parties have explored many sounds over the years including dancehall, soca, UK garage, dubstep, rave and more recently amapiano. Sam Atki2 is a Bristol based producer, composer, DJ, and radio presenter, who flips between soca, house, dancehall, dubstep, IDM, and ambient, always bearing his distinctive sound. He’s released records on Idle Hands, Peverelist’s Punch Drunk label, Actress’s Werk Discs imprint, plus an acclaimed ambient album (2019’s Requiem). His self-released Swim Club EPs and album “Bubble On” combine dreamy dancehall instrumentals with his own illustrations and explorations of queer semiotics. He co-hosts the weekly Super Soca Show on Bristol radio station Ujima 98FM. His deep passion, soft-spoken inquisitiveness, and dedication to his craft mean that no matter what scene or genre he works in, he does it authentically.
Jonesy Wales is a DJ, Vocalist, Producer and party starter, currently between South Wales, Bristol and London. His 10+ year CV includes some of the biggest festivals in the UK including appearances at Glastonbury, St Paul’s and Notting Hill Carnivals, in addition to having entertained audiences around Sri Lanka and Bristol’s finest nightclubs, from the likes of Lakota and Motion to smaller intimate spaces like Cosies and The Plough. Recently, he has moved into producing music, with a keen focus on Amapiano and Soca influenced styles. Join the journey as he strives to shine light on the best music from around the world and deliver his own stylistic interpretation of these sounds.
