MEDICAL TEAM STAFF – NOW OPEN

Join our amazing Medical team, who keep our Shambalans safe and sound. We’re taking applications for our professional and friendly team, who provide excellent care for festival-goers and reduce the impact on the local NHS.

This year, the medical tent will be under new management. We welcome a range of Allied Health Professionals with emergency/urgent care experience including Doctors, RGNs, RMNs, RCNs, Paramedics, Technicians, ECA’s and HCA’s. We also have positions for Radio Controllers, Welfare staff and lost kids.

DOCTORS

We would like you to be post foundation, with experience in emergency medicine or pre-hospital/event medicine. We have a combination of GPs working in the minors/majors side and emergency medicine trained doctors working in
majors/resus, with a senior doctor supervising all areas. Overnight, we have senior doctors capable of sedation if needed so ED registrars or above, or Anaesthetists with ED experience at registrar or above level. You will need to be comfortable seeing paeds and adults, medicine, trauma and psychiatric presentations.

F2s – we can provide observer shifts where you are paired with a senior doctor, and this is a great way to get into event medicine at a junior level. Please note these are usually night shifts. Observer shifts only receive 1 adult ticket.
Doctors will receive 2 x adult tickets for 1 x 12hour shift.

NURSES

We require a good mix of adult, paediatric and mental health nurses. You must be at least two years post qualification and have experience in acute or emergency medicine, critical care, practice nursing or hold a nurse practitioner qualification.

PARAMEDICS

You must be at least two years post qualification and have front line experience. Other experience such as ED, GP or event medicine is a huge asset.

HCA’S, ECA’S, TECHNICIANS/EMTS

Care assistants are required to support our team of HCPs and must have experience of working in front-line ambulance and/or emergency departments.

WELFARE

We are now providing welfare services to the festival. In order to volunteer for the welfare tent, experience of working in a similar role will be required, and you will be supported by our robust team of Mental Health Nurses throughout the festival.

RADIO CONTROLLERS

Experience of using a radio and logging is of great benefit. Previous experience in event control or security control rooms will be of benefit. Please document relevant experience on the application form.

LOST CHILDREN

In order to work for the lost children team experience in a similar role is necessary (such as nursery or school experience).

*ALL STAFF MUST ATTACH A CURRENT CV, ID, AN ENHANCED DBS IF HELD AND A SUITABLE, CURRENT PHOTOGRAPH. THIS APPLIES TO EXISTING AND NEW STAFF. PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ENHANCED DBS AS WE CAN ARRANGE THIS BUT NEED ENOUGH NOTICE.*
