A playful introduction to a selection of simple Mudras and Mantras along with mindfulness and breath, giving us the opportunity to feel the benefits of energising the body and calming the mind.
Mudra’s are hand gestures, and can be performed as a hand dance. Each different hand position calling in and sealing different energies within your body, your vessel, to be carried away with you into your day. Mudras help to link the brain to the body, soothe pains, stimulate endorphins, change moods and increase our vitality.
A mantra is a vibration created through sounds, using your own voice, that can change the frequencies within your body and mind, making us feel more connected to divine cosmic energy. Mantras are mystical energies encased in a sound structure and when practiced repeatedly, generate a creative force often felt as bliss.
Both Mudras and Mantras are an integral part of many varying religions, traditions and rituals, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Egyptian hieroglyphics, Tantric rituals, Roman art, Asian martial arts, Taoism and Indian classical dance. Mudras and Mantras are used extensively in Yoga, meditation and dance in many cultures worldwide and they have been around for thousands of years.
