Flying Seagull Project

Professional entertainer Ash Perrin founded The Flying Seagull Project in 2008 to bring happiness to children who are underprivileged, marginalised or suffering. The UK-based charity currently has more than 20 entertainers engaged in arts workshops, music and dance lessons, circus shows and clown doctoring. Together they’ve spread love, light and laughter to more than 130,000 children in hospitals, orphanages, deaf/blind schools, refugee camps and slums around the world.

The Flying Seagull Project believes that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves to enjoy a happy and healthy childhood. Through promoting children’s right to play, they’ve seen amazing transformations: the burden of premature adulthood lifted; children unable to engage, who do not want to speak, become vocal and loving members of the group; frowns, fear and anxiety replaced by smiles, positivity and confidence.

The Flying Seagull Project works with disadvantaged young people in the UK and across Europe and the Middle East. Since 2015, they’ve focused on providing positive experiences for children affected by the refugee crisis. We’re very happy to welcome this inspiring lot into the Shambala family.
